Formation separates conversation, execution, and operations so a change to one connector or model does not redefine an agent’s identity. PostgreSQL holds the canonical conversation and execution records. Optional vector backends are derived memory indexes. External model providers, messaging services, and sandbox backends sit behind their respective adapters. Commitments, schedules, and dreaming add durable background work with separate eligibility and budgets. Their existence does not imply a general parallel-agent or DAG execution engine. The perspective boundary applies across every component: an adapter, cache, or background job cannot make another agent’s private state available merely because it shares the deployment.
